Yes. Our live sessions will be recorded and made available online at our Members Area. You will have access to the lectures for 1 year after the course is completed.

The empirical exercises and sample codes will be available in both R and in Stata, provided that statistical packages to perform the analysis exist in both languages. We anticipate that we will not be able to provide Stata codes for a handful of topics because some methods have not yet been implemented on it. Importantly, we will not provide Stata licenses. The sample codes will be posted in the Members Only area of our website, which you will have access upon signing up for the course.  

The empirical exercises and sample codes will be available in R. Importantly, every single tool discussed in the course is already implemented in R. The same is not yet true in Stata. No, we will not provide Stata licenses

This should not be a big deal. First, if you are comfortable with Stata, we will also provide Stata codes whenever there exist Stata packages suitable for the analysis (which is the case for the majority of content). Second, we will provide well-documented and well-commented R codes that can serve as the template for your analysis even if you do not know R well. If you have never used R before, we recommend taking a look at the Econometrics with R open-source textbook, as well as on YaRrr! The Pirate’s Guide to R, and R for Data Science. Again, you do not need to be fluent in R to do well on the course!

Ideally, you should have a good working knowledge of the principles and practice of multiple regression, as well as elementary statistical inference. 

Of course! We strongly believe that the best way of learning new data science tools is by combining theory and practice. As such, we will illustrate how you can implement the tools discussed in the course in simulated and real-world empirical applications. And yes, you will have access to all the material.

Yes, there will be problem sets so you can practice on your own all the new tools we cover in the course. These problem sets will be posted in the Members Only area of our website, which you will have access upon signing up for the course. 

No, we will not provide a detailed answer key for the problem sets. We strongly believe that the material we distribute during the course allows you to successfully complete the problem sets. If you have specific questions about the exercises, though, we are more than happy to chat!

Yes, this is a fully online course. Our lectures will be live, offered via Zoom, and you will have access to the recordings.
